At Positive Minds, our development team embraced the exciting challenge of integrating the Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) with fulfillmenttools’ Order Management System (OMS). Our previous collaboration with PAPER & TEA, where we successfully developed a Shopify integration, equipped us with valuable experience in working with fulfillmenttools. Now we are focusing on the interaction with Salesforce, a widely used solution in the enterprise B2C segment.

Thanks to fulfillmenttools’ open APIs and MACH architecture, we found the integration process surprisingly straightforward. Our solution combines the established stability and reach of SFCC with the innovative features and flexibility of fulfillmenttools, providing significant added value for our B2C customers.

A flexible connector as an accelerator for the integration of Salesforce and fulfillmenttools

The development of the connector includes the provision of cartridges as accelerators, which were specifically designed to facilitate the integration of Salesforce Commerce Cloud with fulfillmenttools. These cartridges ensure the availability of essential functionalities while allowing customization to meet the specific requirements of our clients.

The storefront cartridge is based on the SFRA reference application and the in-store pickup plugin. The integration cartridge can be used both for the SFRA and as a basis for development in the PWA reference application.

Order Export

The connector enables the export of online and Click & Collect orders to fulfillmenttools, including the selection of shipping methods and carriers. This feature allows for the addition of customer-specific tags or attributes at any stage, enhancing the personalization of the shipping process and optimizing order routing.

Inventory Data Import

Another important aspect of the integration is the import of inventory data into SFCC, whether for distribution centers (DCs) or directly from stores. This ensures that product availability is always up-to-date, enabling us to respond swiftly and accurately to changes in stock levels.

Real-time Stock Query

One of the most fascinating features is the enhanced Click & Collect/Store Pickup functionality, which allows real-time stock retrieval from fulfillmenttools. This feature offers our customers a decisive advantage by ensuring reliable and timely product selection. We have successfully integrated this feature into our SFRA demo store, and the results have been impressive.

In addition to exporting the product lists to fulfillmenttools, we have integrated webhook listeners for various fulfillmenttools events, the seamless storage of all relevant data within Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC). This creates a uniform data basis and significantly improves response times for events.
